The 5-day programme presents pedagogical lectures on the most advanced neutron and muon techniques followed by class exercises and hands-on tutorials using cutting-edge software packages for data reduction and analysis, data visualization, data fitting, and theoretical modelling of magnetic properties.

Analyses of experimental data collected with various techniques (polarized neutron diffraction, diffuse and inelastic neutron scattering, reflectometry, small angle neutron scattering, muon spin relaxation) will facilitate the study of topical materials examined from different perspectives. Furthermore, it will teach them how to use complementary experimental tools to cross check and validate theoretical models.

The school will be opened by introductory lectures on novel magnetic materials and on potentially disruptive future technological applications. Lectures will be held in English.
