The SISNSC 27 International SISN Neutron Science Conference will take place from 18 to 21 January 2027 in the beautiful setting of the historic centre of Florence (Italy) at the Santa Teresa Campus of the University of Florence.
SISNSC 27 continues the longstanding tradition of the Italian Neutron Science Society meetings in a fully international format. The conference aims to broaden scientific exchange and strengthen collaborations between the Italian neutron community and researchers from around the world who use neutrons as a research tool.
The scientific program will maintain a strongly interdisciplinary character, covering a wide range of topics, spanning physics and quantum materials, materials science, biology, geosciences, and the latest instrumental and methodological developments. The conference will feature oral and poster contributions, together with dedicated discussion sessions designed to encourage interaction, foster new ideas, and promote scientific collaborations.

The 2027 edition will be held in memory of Eleonora Guarini and Marco Zoppi, whose scientific contributions and impact on the neutron community will be honoured through dedicated commemorative sessions during the conference. The conference will also host the Eleonora Guarini PhD Thesis Prize promoted by the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Florence.
For SISN APS members, the conference will also include the Society’s annual General Assembly.
